Description:
This garage-kept Triumph TR 6 is in great shape and looks as if
it had its frame-off restoration yesterday instead of in 1990. From the
gleaming paint to the clean undercarriage, this is a car that needs no
excuses. Moreover, the title shows the mileage as actual (currently the
odometer reads 85,217). We see a lot of TR 6’s but we don’t see many
that are better than this car.
This car has had a color change from Siena Brown to British Racing Green
with a depth you only see on very good paint jobs. The chrome is all
excellent. There is a chrome luggage rack and a twin tip Monza
exhaust. Completing the picture are Panasport minilite wheels equipped
with Yokohama P205/70R/15 tires that look as new. There is a
barely-noticeable crease on the driver’s door (see picture) caused by a
broken door check strap that allowed the door to open too wide.
The interior is black vinyl that has no rips or tears, and looks almost
new. There is a black top boot to make top-down driving practical in
almost any weather conditions—although this TR 6 only goes out in nice
weather. The black vinyl top was up once since this owner bought the
car 3 years ago!
The mechanicals on this car are in excellent condition and include:
• An engine rebuild 1,000 miles ago with new bearings and crankshaft;
• Installation of a street/strip cam;
• Installation of Pertroniz Rev limiter and electronic ignition;
• 40,000 volt ignition coil;
• Hayden electric fan;
• New clutch kit;
• Two Weber downdraft carburetors;
• K&N air and oil filters;
• Monza dual exhaust system with headers.
Needless to say, this car runs great with good acceleration, crisp
up-shifts and down-shifts from its all-synchro 4-speed transmission, and
a hearty exhaust note as the revs build. Moreover, the steering is
tight allowing it to track absolutely straight, making driving it a real
pleasure.
The car comes with owners and shop manuals. Also included are the
original Stromberg carburetors, linkage and numerous spare
parts. Complete records and receipts for the restoration will also be
provided.
This is a car that has been restored and then pampered
thereafter—garage-kept and taken out only on sunny days. There is no
rust in the rocker panel sections or the floor pans. If you have wanted
a TR6, here is one in the most popular color combinations and in
excellent mechanical condition. You probably won’t find a nicer one at
such a reasonable price.
