Description:
This Colonial White 1957 Thunderbird has undergone a fresh
restoration—mechanicals, electrical, paint—with an eye towards keeping
the car “as original”. The car has a black and white interior, a white
porthole hardtop and a black canvas soft top. Also included is the
storage cart for the hardtop. It is a low mileage vehicle, with the
41,027 being represented to us as the true mileage—a fact reinforced by
the car’s title.
This is a “D” code car with the 312 cu.in. V8 producing 245 h.p. and it
starts and runs properly. It has an automatic transmission that shifts
smoothly. The car drives nicely on its nearly new 205/75R/14 BF Goodrich
radial tires with wide whitewalls. The drivability is enhanced by power
steering.
The car’s paint is very good to excellent, and was repainted in the
original Colonial White as it was when it left the factory. The chrome
is generally good to very good and therefore was not redone during the
restoration.
The interior is in very nice condition and is finished in the
Thunderbird black and white color combination. All of the instruments
work properly, as do all of the safety items (lights, turn signals,
wipers, horn). The clock is not working and will need servicing. While
there is an aftermarket radio in the car, the original is available and
will be included with the car.
This is a car that is ready to drive or to show—or, perhaps, both. It is
a great example of a nicely restored ’57 Thunderbird that will be envied
by knowledgeable T-Bird owners.
