Description:

Here is a true “time warp” car—a 1962 Chevy Bel Air with 17,635 ORGINIAL MILES. This Chevrolet is truly a trip back to the 1960’s as this car rolled out of the dealership almost 50 years ago with the same original paint and interior as it has today. This is not just a survivor, but a rust free example of Chevy’s popular sedan.

Here is a car for someone who wants a truly original ‘60’s Chevy for shows or someone just getting into the collectible car hobby who wants an inexpensive car that will get you “there and back” reliably. In either event, this car does not disappoint.

This is the base model Bel Air, complete with two-tone paint, four doors, and a six cylinder engine with an automatic transmission. While there weren’t many options to break on these cars, the factory power steering works fine after all these years. The car has been fitted with a recent set of bias ply tires.

The blue and white exterior paint combination is original to the car. There are almost no signs of rust on any of the exterior surfaces, but there are various door dings and a dent above the right headlights (see picture). The two-tone combination makes for a pleasing look for this family sedan.

The blue interior, including seats and carpeting, are all original and, as one would expect given the low mileage, not worn. It could benefit from a cleaning, but there are no rips or tears to contend with. Similarly, the headliner is in excellent condition, without any yellowing or stains.

This Bel Air starts right up and runs and drives like a 17,000+ mile car should. No rattles or shakes. There is a slight hesitation when the car goes from a standing start and the brakes pull to the left, both ailments that are likely to require only minor corrections.

This is not a “barn find” but rather a car that has been driven intermittently over the years. The car is clean and tight; and will provide a ‘60s Chevrolet fan with an excellent—and probably irreplaceable—car to enjoy.
