1956 Chevrolet BelAir

WOW! A picture-perfect restored 1956 Chevy BelAir 2-door hardtop with a modern ZZ4 engine and Turbo 400 transmission. This is a stock BelAir on the outside with the guts and reliability of a crate 350 under the hood.

Nicely re-finished in period-correct Twilight Turquoise and India Ivory, the paint on this Chevy exceeds the quality with which it left the factory. This is a classic Chevrolet color combination that was one of the favorites back in the ‘50s just as it is today. Complementing the exterior finish, the interior features turquoise and beige upholstery with matching carpeting, dash, headliner, etc. The car comes with a full set (front and rear) of black BelAir floor mats.

The engine is a new ZZ4 350 Chevy small block with fewer than 2,800 miles, producing 355 hp (and therefore obviously not an matching numbers car). It is mated to a rebuilt Turbo 400 transmission, and the combination make this a very quick, yet reliable, BelAir. The rumble of the dual exhausts fits perfectly with the fuzzy dice that go with the car! All that’s missing to take you back to the ‘50s is a drive-in movie theater.

Performance and looks aren’t the whole story with this ’56: comfort and driving convenience round out the picture of this outstanding car. This BelAir is air conditioned and the modern system blows as much cold air as the hottest day will demand. All of the gauges and safety features work properly as befits a fully restored car, with the exception of the horn (and the parts to repair it are included) and the backup lights. The only other thing that doesn’t work is the clock, but who cares since this car is time-warped back to 1956.

The fit and finish of this car make clear that it was a high-quality (and high-dollar) restoration with no expense spared. The gaps are all very good, the chrome is excellent, and there is no sign of rust on this car. The jams, sills and trunk floor are exceptionally clean, as is the engine compartment.
